Antonio Frangioni is full professor at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Pisa.
After a Ph.D. Degree in Computer Science at the University of Pisa in 1996, he spent all his career at the Department of Computer Science: as a research associate (1996 – 2004), associate professor (2004 – 2012), and full professor (2012 – todate).
His main fields of expertise are modelling and algorithmic techniques for the solution of large-scale, hard optimization problems arising in many fields, such as energy, logistics, and telecommunications.
He coordinated several industrial and research projects on methodologies for the solution of challenging optimization problems and its application to different contexts, prominently energy production and distribution.
